直接引語是祈使句,變?yōu)殚g接引語時,句子的謂語動詞要選用含有祈使句意義的動詞,如tell, ask, order, advise, invite, remind, request, warn 等,引語的動詞改成不定式。如果祈使句為否定式,在動詞不定式前加not。例如:
"Stop talking," the monitor said to the class. "別說話。"班長對全班人說到。
The monitor told the class to stop talking. 班長告訴全班人不要說話。
"Don't take off your coat," she said to her sister. "別脫掉你的大衣。"她對她妹妹說。
She told her sister not to take off her coat. 她告訴她妹妹不要脫大衣。
"Wear a raincoat, Simon," said Amy. "Simon, 穿一件雨衣,"Amy 說。
Amy advised Simon to wear a raincoat. Amy 建議Simon穿一件雨衣。
"Don't open the door before the bus stops," Mr Zhang warned. 張先生警告道:"汽車停好前別開門。"
Mr Zhang warned us not to open the door before the bus stopped. 張先生警告我們汽車停好前別開門。
